stores and issues UIC service and manufacturing supplies and parts while
compiling and maintaining stock records where appropriate. Responsible for replenishing material to
production floor. Also verifies, maintains records and prepares materials and
parts for shipment in accordance with UIC packaging specifications.

Principle Accountabilities include:

+ Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming material to verify receipt of
items on requisition or invoices. Inputs
requisition information into SAP or other computerized material data system to
confirm that material has been received.

+ Selects appropriate locations for material according to
identifying information such as style, size, type of material or part numbers.

+ Insures that product has the proper product identification
throughout the receiving, storage, picking and shipping processes.

+ Assists in the perpetual inventory of stock through cycle counting
and other verification procedures while verifying conformance to specifications
to insure the integrity and protection of the parts.

+ Assists in the determination of methods for storage,
identification and stock location giving consideration to height and weight
limits, turn over, floor loading capacities and required space.

+ Operates hand trucks and/or fork trucks, and other distribution
equipment for the movement, storage and handling of service and/or
manufacturing parts and supplies.

+ A working knowledge of SAP including uploads and downloads,
batching and importing of material requirements into the system, and
verification of accurate data transmission is preferred.

+ Uses a variety of technologies, including Material Resource
Planning and barcoding technologies.

+ May compare identifying information and counts, weighs or measures
items of outgoing internal external shipments to verify information against
bills of lading, invoices, or orders.

+ May compile reports on the use or adjustments of inventory counts
and stock records, damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.

+ May select and/or assemble wooden or cardboard containers, places
parts or materials into standard packaging containers, tapes or binds
containers for closure, posts weights and shipping charges, and then routes
items to appropriate locations.

+ Maintains inventory of department materials and supplies.

+ Coordinates shift scheduling for Materials Management Team.

Minimum Requirements:

A High School Degree
and one to three years of experience in a warehouse or production
environment The ability to utilize basic
math for counting. The ability to read
and write and to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form. Sound interpersonal and communication
skills. Personal computer and CRT
experience is required.

standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.

Physical Demands:

performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to
access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.

+ While
performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving
mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration.

+ The
employee must occasionally move heavy objects.

+ The
noise level in this type of work environment is usually loud; where necessary,
hearing protection equipment is provided.

+ Requires
the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
