The job of the Bakeshop Engineer is to oversee equipment and process continuous improvement projects within Bakeshop. This role will work closely with multiple teams within Bakeshop (Operations, Scheduling, etc.) to provide solutions for day-to-day issues that arise. This role requires knowledge of operational processes and manufacturing principles to calculate labor costs and quality control gaps.
Results (What We Measure)
Oversee small to medium process and/or equipment based continuous improvement projects for Bakeshop; use Lean principles and collaborate with Bakeshop Area and Department Managers to provide solutions that meet business objectives
Review past and current operational volumes to identify capabilities and utilization rates of process lines
Calculate labor costs and quality control gaps with the goal of creating more efficient processes
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current manufacturing processes and new product development
Lead employee safety improvements through analysis of root cause factors and proactively partner with operations to eliminate hazards
Customer (What We Believe)
Partner with Research and Development team on continuous improvement projects that utilize similar or existing processes and/or equipment
Collaborate with the production scheduling team and validate appropriate metrics in order to build an effective and efficient schedule
Analyze and report data for New Product prototype and validation test runs including cost, process parameters, and run rates; make recommendations and lead changes for improvement as appropriate

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in industrial engineering related field Preferred Skills
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
Engineer in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
Engineering Internship experience
